History of Our Parish

Thank you for visiting the Our Lady of the Annunciation parish website.

In 1970, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Annunciation became the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation (OLA), no longer a mission of St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls. On May 24, 1970, a pastor was introduced and shortly thereafter a parish council was formed. As the number of families in the parish began to grow - from the original 150 in 1963 to 1,350 in 1989, so did the parish facilities.

The parish center, consisting of the rectory and a large multipurpose meeting room, was dedicated in 1977. The education wing was completed in 1989 thanks to the generous offerings of parishioners.

The ministries, programs and services at OLA continue to evolve and change, as has been the case since the inception of our parish.

Welcoming new members of the parish has been a practice at OLA since 1970, and continues today.
